Governance-Based Participation & Taxonomy Framework
Smart Badges are governance instruments. Subscription enables access. Governance controls state. Credibility compounds through compliance. Visibility reflects governed credibility.
Transactions occur off-platform. Badges do not certify ownership, title, investment safety, or transaction outcomes.
Smart Badges are governance instruments within the PropLync operating system. They structure participation eligibility, indicate licence-linked identity confirmation where applicable, and standardise listing and profile integrity inside a governed discovery environment.
Smart Badges:
Transactions occur entirely off-platform.
Subscription tiers determine badge category eligibility. Governance determines badge state integrity.
Smart Badges operate under two independent controls:
A - Subscription Access Scope
Subscription tiers determine which badge categories a participant may activate.
Subscription:
Subscription-tier badges indicate feature access scope only. They do not change governance-based credibility, and they are not rankings or endorsements.
B - Governance State Control
Badge state integrity remains governed. Badge lifecycle states:
Governance enforcement supersedes subscription entitlement. Credibility is governance-gated. Visibility reflects governed credibility - it is not purchased, auctioned, or behaviourally optimised.
Badge lifecycle state is governed and may be suspended or revoked independent of subscription status. Subscription controls access scope, not governance state authority.
Smart Badges are classified into three structural tiers:
Tier
Tier A
Governance Badges - remain as Smart Badges
Tier B
Contextual Tags - converted from badge to tag
Tier C
Deferred / Restricted Labels - Phase C governance review required
Tier A - Governance Badges
Defensible because they describe eligibility, structure, or system participation - not superiority.
Smart Profile Badges (SPB):
These indicate: licence-linked identity confirmation (where applicable), participation eligibility, governance status, and structured engagement access.
These do NOT indicate: market share, superiority, performance ranking, or transaction success.
Smart Property Badges (Structural):
These indicate listing structure and governance compliance only. They do not imply investment quality, financial yield, ownership confirmation, or market advantage.
Tier B - Contextual Tags (Converted from Badges)
Certain labels describe contextual or marketing attributes and are not governance-verifiable. These are classified as Tags, not Smart Badges.
Examples:
Tags are participant-provided contextual descriptors. They are not governance-certified, not endorsements, and not financial assurances. Tags do not influence eligibility, credibility state, or visibility parameters.
Tier C - Deferred / Restricted Labels
The following label types are not permitted as Smart Badges unless a traceable governance mechanism exists:
Examples:
These labels imply superiority, comparative ranking, financial return, or outcome assurance. They are DSA, competition-law, and misrepresentation exposure vectors.
Until defined by a published governance mechanism with transparent criteria, these labels must not be deployed as Smart Badges, may not imply ranking, may not suggest transaction outcomes, and may not suggest market dominance.
1. Eligibility Determination
2. Activation
3. Ongoing Governance Monitoring
4. Suspension (where applicable)
5. Restoration (where applicable)
6. Revocation (where applicable)
Badge state may change independently of subscription status. Badge state integrity is not purchasable.
Smart Badges do not determine ranking position. Visibility within PropLync:
Visibility reflects governed credibility.
Smart Badges do not verify:
Where badge labels include contextual descriptors, those descriptors must not be interpreted as institutional endorsement.
Smart Badges are defined using structured semantic vocabulary (DefinedTermSet - schema.org). The machine layer mirrors this governance model precisely.
Tier A governance signals for licence-confirmed real estate professionals on PropLync. Includes participation, specialisation, scale, and market focus badges. Tier B contextual tags and Tier C restricted labels are not included here as DefinedTerms. Not quality ratings, endorsements, or rankings. Subscription-tier access affects available feature scope but does not alter badge state integrity or governance-based credibility. Subscription enables access. Governance controls state.

No Smart Badge functions as:
Subscription tiers define badge category eligibility. Governance defines badge lifecycle state. Human and machine layers use identical doctrine.
Silence on a badge category does not imply permission. Where ambiguity exists, default to restriction. All new badge labels require governance classification before deployment.
Prohibited language across all badge surfaces: “certified” · “endorsed” · “recommended” · “top” · “best” · “rank higher” · “boost” · “priority exposure purchase”
Smart Badges are governance instruments. Subscription enables access. Governance controls state. Credibility compounds through compliance. Visibility reflects governed credibility. PropLync is infrastructure - not a promotional ranking system.
